As current students, you already know the benefits of training martial arts at MKG Madison but, we can still use your help.

Adult start trainin martial arts for many reasons and they are all valid and important. One of those reasons is to find an community that is friendly and supportive as they work towards their goals.

Mondays Mr. James will be teaching the full group and Wednesdays Mr. Josh will be leading the classes but the majority of the class the students will be split up in the perspective groups to work their our requiremets for testing.

We have tried to connect with as many parents and families as possible to explain the reason for this change.  If you have any additional questions please contact us as soon as possible.

Word of the Month: Confidence

Confidence can be described as a belief in oneself, that one has the ability to meet life’s challenges and to succeed—and acting in a way that conveys that belief.

That sounds like something we want for our kids! Right?! So, this month will be talking about:

  • What confidence is.
  • How to have self confidence.
  • How help others build confidence in themselves.

The 2019 7th Annual Veteran Suicide Awareness Ruck March will be held on Saturday, November 9th along the Fox River trail through Green Bay, Allouez and De Pere.

The Ruck is 20 miles to represent the number of Veterans reported by the VA who complete suicide every day. Last year, more than 1000 Veterans, active duty service members and civilians came together at the event to raise awareness and honor the lives and service of those who we have lost to this epidemic.

                          – Where: KI Convention Center – 333 Main St, Green Bay, WI 54301
                          – What: 20 Mile Ruck March, w/an optional 20lbs carried.
+ there is a 2 Mile option as well
                          – Why: To raise awareness that there are 20 veterans who complete suicide every day. The ruck is also meant to help raise money so the org (4th  Hooah) can help local veterans.
                          – How Much: $20.00 (you can register a head of time online or at the event)
                          – Helpful Tips:
+ Don’t carry more than you can handle
+ Start stretching 1 week prior, focus on: hip flexors, glutes, and hamstrings
+ Bring a good sized water source and start increasing your water in-take 1 week prior. They will have water & snack stations, lunch will also be provided.
+ Bring: a change of  shoes (make sure both pairs you have are broken in), change of socks, baby powder, knee-high nylons (they REALLY help  against blistering). I will have extra stuff to share (baby powder,  nylons, first aid kit).
+ Dress in layers, it could start out cold, but once you get moving, you’ll warm up.
+ Have fun! The purpose for the event is heavy, but the people that you meet while participating are amazing. There is a ton of camaraderie among everyone that makes it so fun to be a part of.
